Pentraeth is situated on the eastern coast of the Isle of Anglesey, which lies off the
north-west coast of Wales, United Kingdom.
Anglesey:
With 125 miles of spectacular coastline, the
Isle of Anglesey has lovely golden sands - Traeth Coch and Traeth Dulas, as well as all
kinds of water sports, wildlife, historic castles and prehistoric remains.
The Irish sea washes the Island's shores on three sides. Many lakes are to be found on the
western side of the island, namely Llyn Llywenan, Penrhyn, Dinam, Taffwll to name a few.
The highest points on the Island are Mynydd Twr (Holyhead Mountain) and Mynydd y Garn near
Llanrhuddlad. Anglesey is surrounded by many profound Islands such as Ynys Cybi
(Holyhead Island) and Ynys Seiriol (Puffin Island), as well as Llanddwyn and Ynys
Moelrhoniaid (the Skerries).
The channel of sea which seperates Anglesey from the mainland of Wales is called the Afon
Menai (Menai Straits).
