Tommy's Shadow

What made the shadow?

The sun shone on Tommy's back and the light couldn't go through him.

Why did the shadow move during the day?

The earth moves around the sun and that's why the shadow moves.

Why did the size of the shadow change?

Because at the movement of the earth. The sun is in the east in the morning and the shadow is long. At midday the sun is above us and the shadow is short. The sun is in the west in the evening and the shadow is long again.

Sophie wants to know if shadows are longer or shorter in winter?
